  • "In March of 2020, I was laid off, much like a lot of designers in our industry due to COVID 19. I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but a dear friend Tori told me about this organization "Hospitality Cares" that was helping designers in any way they could to get get through this and get back on their feet. They were able to help financially with a check and now they were able to pass along a donated Macbook! They have been such a light in this dark tunnel of uncertain times and I am so grateful for their help!"

  • “I am forever grateful to Hospitality Cares and donors involved to assist the unemployed that have been affected by the pandemic within the industry.  In general, this pandemic has affected everyone in one way or another.  Never in a million years I would have imagined being unemployed for this long.  Life has really tested me in many ways, however, an organization like Hospitality Cares has lifted me so much.  Not only have they provided me with a grant to pay a few bills but also offered me a computer that was donated to them and followed up if I needed one, it was the universe calling when I was about to look into financing one to continue with my job search, it was hard not to shed a few tears.  And may I add, it was so great to hear the voice of Heather Scott to follow up how things are going, it meant to so much to me!  I'm truly blessed! Thank you so much everyone in the industry!!!  Much love!  Continue to stay safe and healthy!”

  • “I'm so fortunate to have chosen a career in hospitality design that cares so much about giving back to the hospitality community. After being laid off last year due to COVID, my family and I had to adjust to our new life style of distance learning and working from home.  Before we received this lovely laptop, we were stuck with one old lap top to share. With 2 kids remote learning and myself working on contracted jobs, a shared devise was not the most effective and efficient solution. We are forever grateful to Hospitality Cares and Brinton's for donating this gently used lap top so that my house hold could run a bit smoother. ”

  • "Back in March, I distinctly remembered that we would "probably stay home for a few days." Little did we know the toll Covid-19 would take on our industry. My company furloughed me in June - we didn't have nearly enough work to go around and then in August, I was let go. For 7 months, I was unemployed receiving aid from Unemployment. Being without work for that long took its toll on my mental health and finances. I relied on help from my friends and family. At my lowest point after I thought I had emailed every firm in Chicago, I finally got a break though. A good friend in my network reached out with a job opportunity. I took a chance and I landed my current job with Yellow Goat Design! The grant I received from Hospitality Cares will go towards rebuilding my life. What you are doing is so inspiring and I can’t thank you enough for helping out the hospitality industry. It means so much to know that my industry cares. Thank you Hospitality Cares!"

  • "Today is a good day. After a year of being unemployed the money was set to run out on Sunday but thankfully the new bill passed this afternoon. And then, to my surprise, I discovered that I received a grant from Hospitality Cares to help during this really tough time. Words can’t express the anxiety that is lifted off of me for the first moment in a year. Thank you to everyone in the industry who took a pie in the face and donated money to this special foundation."

  • "In March of 2020, I lost my job due to the effects of COVID 19 on our industry. Heather Scott @studioproofcollection reached out and told me about Hospitality Cares. They were able to help financially with a grant and brought me on the team to aid in marketing efforts and help other designers like me get back on their feet. I am so grateful for the aid and to be able to work to help others that are in similarly dire situations like I was!"
